6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
First Church of Christ, Scientist
44802 N Fern Avenue
If you have not yet attended our Annual concert, we hope you will this year. You will then understand all the enthusiasm for it!
This is the 8th year of our Concert - and our 3-fold purpose remains the same:
- Remember what a great country we live in;
- honor our military;
- have fun.
We get the same response every year from people attending for the first time, "I didn't know it would be like this! I'm coming next year and bringing my friends!" - and attendance continues to grow. Returning musicians include Nathleen Albright, John Crocker, Kenny Katz, Dan Miller, Anya Norton, Margret Seal, Robert Wolf, and Mary Zimmerman. A new face and talented musician this year is Rose Mejia. Our special guest performers this year are: Belle Voci Dorate singers, and Miwa Tucker singing R&B. Also new this year is Susan Hastings from Techachapi, playing the hammered dulcimer.
Mary Zimmerman and Kenny Katz will be playing piano/organ duets. In addition to some Patriotic music sing-a-long, the children will be invited to march to You're a Grand Old Flag, Yankee Doodle, and more, with dulcimer, drum, and piano accompanying them. They will be waving the flags included in their gift bags!
The sub-theme of the program this year is: The History of Music of the United States. Although in a 2-hour concert we cannot give a complete history, there is a wonderful sampling, including jazz, folk, classic, and more. These are all genres that have helped shape America through the years. Concert goers will be able to visit with the musicians during intermission, when free refreshments will be provided.
First and last - if you or someone you know is or has been in the military, please come and bring them! We want to honor them!

We hope we see you there!
